What a great trip it was to New Orleans for the 2009 ELCA National Youth Gathering. It was quite an event with 38,000 people in attendance. The city is still talking about all the service work done by the Lutherans! We stayed at the Hotel Le Cirque on Lee Circle: www.hotellecirqueneworleans.com
We collected coins and donations in stacks of drawers located just outside the sanctuary door. The one who ended in last had to shave their head. At the finish of this challenge David Gore ended up in the dreaded last place position. He looked good with that shaved head!
Our prayers were with the following people who went to N’awlins......Stephen Steingass, Elizabeth Steingass, Jonathan Steingass, Zac Boyd, Sean Stapleton, Shannon Quinn, Chris Boyd, Sean Keister, Taylor Macy, Megan Davis, Pastor Hout, Dawn Warrick and, of course, David Gore. We pray that this experience will continue to make an impact on the rest of their lives.

Pastor Hout meets a man from NASA at inventing flight and finds out he can juggle. Guess what? Next thing you know they are passing. These are two pictures from the NASA website with Martin, an engineer with an avid interest in shooting rockets.....http://microgravity.grc.nasa.gov/outreach/flight/pages/dayton63.htm

How many times has Grace fallen on her face?
How many times has Hannah fallen asleep in church? Or maybe we should change this to Elizabeth, the snoozing champion of the world?
If you have worked hard, you are in need of a break. Stephanie and Victoria used to recommend the following little video......click here
