2023 is here and we are starting to think about our upcoming season. We are currently resting from an exciting spring and summer season. 2022 was quite a year for us as we were regular season champions!!! After winning both sides of a late season doubleheader we improved to 9-1 and took sole possession of first place. We celebrated with a giant trophy presentation at a Sunday worship service. Sadly, we did not win the league tournament as other teams seem to find ways to load up their team while we play our players who got us there. We are not crying, though, and are happy for all the fun and excitement we had in the 2022 season.
Our schedule is posted below. We still love looking back at our 2021 season as it was pretty special and everyone is still talking about it - well, at least the pastor of St. Jacob is still talking about it. We ended up winning the league championship and finished second in the tournament at the end of the season. It was an amazing turnaround for a team that usually only won a game or so every couple of years. We had lots of rain (five rainouts) but when the skies cleared we were hitting. We had a big trophy presentation and the trophy is, indeed, BIG. We have been sharing the excitement with the only other team in church history to win the league.....our men’s team back in 1976.
